VIAS 1.0 was first released in 2005 for Windows XP. The last update, version 1.3.5, was issued in September 2010. Because VIAS 1 only works on 32-bit operating systems, active support and downloads were discontinued at the end of 2014. Users that had saved a copy of 1.3.5 could continue to install it on new 32-bit computers, but older versions can no longer be registered.
VIAS 2 was released at the end of 2011. It can read all the data files and connect to same TimeMark counters that VIAS 1.2 and later could. It also includes many new features and improvements including compatibility with 64-bit as well as 32-bit systems.
Now that new 32-bit computers are becoming harder to find, TimeMark has made the decision to focus our efforts on our newer software and stop issuing new registration codes for VIAS 1.3.5 after December 31, 2017. Copies that have already been registered will continue to run. However, sites will need to upgrade to VIAS 2 for any new computers after that date.
